  5. Spent yesterday travelling se to Hot SpringsRaspolono Terme-Italian beach substitute ,sulphury water 39.4 ,lots of sunshine and bikinis. Then dropped in nback to see cathedral --amazing structure alife of work, beautiful marble facade-memories of being raide catholic-almost draws you back in with its splendour-joking I think.Shopping an issue esp for kids pasta, pizza, veg and fruit are reasonable but variety is minimal

  6. Back from Firenze, less traumatic parking than Siena though did 1/2 hour rural circuit totally lost before finally finding xpress way to Firenze,What a place, great locale, the Arno,Ponte Vecchio,Duomo and Ufizzi.Spent just over an hour there loved Botticellis Venus de Milo,Titan and Caravaggios.Lots of wealth here.Shopping so much less generic than home. There is a benefit in being generic.Still active craft, paper making, printmaking, ceramics ,sewing plus a wealth of archetecture, sculpture and art.Hate to see the place in full Summer.Liked Siena as less touristy but Firenze is overwhelming in its grandeur and plthora of art

  7. Arrived in Lucca yesterday, very relaxing city. Very pretty. We have a very big apartment, Annie got the biggest bed!!! We have a balcony, and we are very central. Dad loves it. The apartment is within the old walls of Lucca. We are going to the opera tonight, my neck is very sore. We did some shopping and got some gelati. We went out to dinner last night, i had Leek cream and spinach and ricotta gnocci.
